Prediction: June 6, 2006 conspiracy theories to surface
I noticed this on the plane out here on monday, I looked at my phone and saw the date: 06/06/05. It occurred to me that next year the MM/DD/YY date strings on all devices worldwde will read 06/06/06.
This is all it takes: wait for a conspiracy theory to emerge around this date, it will be singled out as some sort of seminal moment in human history: WWIII will start, asteroid hit, coup d'etat and imposition of martial law in the US, suitcase nuke somewhere, we're waiting for the "what" gets predicted to happen on that day, not "if" a wild theory will evolve in advance of it.
Remember my Law of the Expected Unexpected, whatever the conspiracy theory posits for 06/06/06, it will absolutely, positively not occur on that day in particular. (Douglas Adams had a name for it in Hitchhiker's Guide: a number whose value can be anything but itself, and its use in practice was that the given hour for a dinner party was the one moment in time where it was impossible for any of the guests to arrive).
The smart way to play 06/06/06, from a working conspiracy theorist's vantage point is to posit something that won't be immediately disproved by June 7th arriving without the world ending. Birth of the AntiChrist is always a good one. It still leaves years to write books, hit the lecture circuit and start a small cult of personality around the theory.

Not all of us witches are devil worshpers. Yes there are the ones that take magic to a dark place, but that is their choice. Im perfectly fine, and dont need help from anybody. So mr Josh i will say this to you. Be carefull of whom you piss off.
Also i do have ESP, and i have a gut feeling something is going to happen. What i have no idea, but something bad is going to happen somewere in the world that day. Be warned.

If you believe in God than you believe in the coming of the End of the World. Anyone ever read the Book of Revelations? The Saved will be elevated from the planet, and the sinners will flee into the hills and be crushed in landslides and avalanches. If you are not pure (and lets face it, no human being ever was) and are not among the Saved, than I advise you go somewhere flat, like Saskatoon or Winnipeg.
Just a thought -- Revelations says that the end of the world will begin in the ancient Kingdom of Babylon, modern Iraq. Coincidence? Or will we get some severe terrorist action?
And if nothing happens, which seems the most likely occurence, let's just get on with our lives. I look forward to 2012.

I mapped the day of June 6th 2006 since I was 11 years old and 8 years later Im here June 3rd. 3 days till June 6 2006 and which so happens that june six 2006 lies on the 3rd day of the week. No superstition there just information. I do believe that something is coming. Not necessarilly that day because like Mark said expect the un excpected and not on the day expected. Something might be born but when its old enough to rise and show us all that something did happen it will all be too late. Like I said I belive something will happen...I hope nothing does happen. I wouldnt be surprised if something did happen however I will be shoked if it the end of the world.

ok well i am really freaked out right now cuz i will be on a trip from church that day in like a totally different city. and i have a gut feeling that tells me i shouldn't go but i know im going to end up going anyways. and i am really really scared. I don't know what to think because before this website and several others i thought wow ppl are going crazy over a regular old day. and there all freaking out because of rumors. but now that i've read through these and how some people think the world will end i'm beginning to have my doubts. and i am so so freaked out please help me !

My family has been having dreams and visions and a general feeling of something big coming, but I refuse to put negative energy and fear to the date. I truly believe that with the power of prayer and positive energy we can detain or diminish the impact of anything negative in the works. We as a family have been praying three Hail Mary's every day since April 22nd for the Blessed Virgin Mary's intentions as a small way we can help. Believe in God and His Divine Plan and we will be safe. May God Bless all of You!

Demons will come on earth but after the war between good and evil Jesus will lead is followers into salvation and the earth will be his kingdom. So if your going to write about 666, get backround information and don't write out of ignorance. Besides if you follow God's commandments and believe in Jesus you have nothing to worry about.

the bible says nothing about this date. if anything does happen it will merely be because conspirators somewhere decided on it for whatever they have planned. the bible says absolutely nothing about 6/6/06 being the end of the world.

If you are a strong believer of God then you should be freakin scared to death, because it's from his word that Hell exists and that the number of the beast is 666. So all of you that say nothing will happen it's just another day and to just pray to God, shut up! Because if you not a believer of God or the Book of Revelations then you have nothing to worry about, the number is just a number.
Plus everybody's information is wrong I know what the real demonic time is. For one, 6:06 am is not the real demon time 3:00 am is the real one. If you remember the movie "The Exorsist" The possesed person wakes up suddenly at 3:00 am every night. The priest says to the person that 3:00 am is the time of the devil. So people should be afaird of that time instead.
Another important piece of information that might bum out all those devil worshipers is that 666 is the wrong number! From my research on the internet historians found that the Revelation was read all wrong. They have found a new testament by John one of Jesus's disiples reading that 616 is the real number of the beast power. If this was the real number then all those horror movies would have to be rewritten. They are not 100% sure but it is a pretty good hypothsis with all the evidence and stuff. You can go look it up if you want.
I for one think that the number is pretty funny with all these people going berserk over it. I think it kinda has a catchy sound to it, I mean just say it 6... 6... 6... The number of the beast! What ever happens, happens. You think what you want whether you are a devil worshiper or a prayer just try not hurting other people or as they say "sacrifice" other people.

It's been known for many years (by those of us who can read) that 666 is NOT even a correct translation of the "number of the beast." This was an error made during translation from a fragmented tablet, where the original number was ambiguous between the number 666 and 616. Since that translation, other, full tablets have been found clearly indicating the number 616. So, to all doom-sayers - you missed your day of horror. "The End" should have come on June 1st, but it didn't. We're all still here. So, now you can go back to your pig-ignoart existence and believe in some other mythological nonsense.

Of coarse something bad is going to happen in the world on June 6, 2006. Something bad, hell MANY bad things, happen every single day in the world. So what? nothing is going to happen,just a regular normal day,people in general want to beleive that something is going to happen,they are weak minded and are program into beleiving,whatever future prediction is written by book authors, who just want to make money on your fears, wake up people and do your own research,fear is a great motivator,and people used it for there advantage to get you buying and believing....wake up and do your own homework.

Did you hear about the woman, who was refused to be induced early because her due date was June 6th 2006? I think for her peace of mind, the doctors should be a little helpful. I myself am pregnant right now, my husband and I were tossing around the name 'damien' actually, my husband is an athiest and I believe in God. Beside that fact, all of my sisters and mother's first born were early, so there IS a possibility that I could have the baby tomorrow! I was alittle concerned about all those factors actually, but after reading this blog, I realize..yes, I do believe in god and pray...and i like the thought that if I trust in god, he will protect. I guess in closing, whatever happens...everyone...make sure you enjoy today! And then when nothing happens, you will all forget about this blog, and go on with your june 7th, 2006 and so on, and so on... : )

tomorrow 6-6-06 is my 20th birthday...take that however you want it but the world is not going to end, like someone said earlier bad things will happen, bad things happen everyday its nothing out of the ordinary, i am a firm believer in God and and 666 is "apparently" the worst number out there...but isnt the end of the world taking it a little far?

I think that this might be the time to point out that the Christian New Testament does not say anywhere that Armageddon will begin on 6/6/06, not to mention that the Bible in many instances should not be taken literally, (but you'll crucify me for saying that), and even predictions from Nostradamus are very vague. If something happens, then millions of people can say 'I told you so' and if nothing happens then millions of people can say 'I told you so'. Just sit on your haunches and wait for ultimate disaster...or just have a normal day.

yes something will happen but it wont be due to supernatural stuff. It's a collective will of people that are doomsayers willing it so. If enoth people sit around saying "it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen." something will happen. I'm guessing some riots maybe some shootings and deaths widespread, but this isn't the work of some malevolent leader ushering forth from the pits. It is just people with warped minds that want something to happen so they go out and make it so.

this is just utterly stupid . ill tell u about myself im 12 and im in athiest. Conspircies annoy me because they are pointless. anyway even if god does exist then hed obviously give a decoy for the end of the world. I Hate Religion because every single war there has been has been related to religion. and all religions say u should kill any1 hus not a believer. Like many have said....this day is not predicted in the bible as the day of "Armaggedon" or end of the world. I do beleive its going to happen eventually (end of this world) but not tomorrow. I do have a "what if" question i'd like for you guys to ponder....especially the ones that don't beleive in GOD. In the bible it says that if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your saviour, you will end up in Hell when the world ends or when you die (which ever comes 1st)....it also says that if you do go to hell you will burn for all eternity....that means you will never die but just suffer the agony of being burnt for the rest of ETERNITY. Now the What if question: What if everything the bible says its true, think about it for a sec. What if it's really true?? will you be willing to burn the rest of eternity? So now lets imagine that tomorrow the world does end....armaggedon happens and the bible becomes a reality....at that point it'll be too late to repent and you will spend the rest of your life wishing you had at least given God a try...go to a church (preferably Baptist) and ask them about the prophecies that are written in the bible and you will notice how things are falling in to place for the end of the world...can't say how long until it happens, because no one know the day or time...but i know we're close.

Hey everyone! I have had this gut felling that something will indeed happen on the day of Satian of the date June 6, 2006. For the last three years me and my friends have been talking about the world ending and we all came to a conclusion that it will end on 6/6/06! Personally I do not think the world will actually "End" because such a date happens every 100 years. June 6, 1906 spelled 6/6/06 and I don't see how the date of June 6, 2006 is any different. Indeed maybe something will happed such as a tsunami or something in the natural disasters range. And then again maybe not! Like I said personally I THINK something will happen but nothing dramatic making the world end. The only thing will maybe happen is a bunch of drunks who think they are the Antichrist or something. I was a bit worried about tomorrow, that's why I was looking around doing a bit of research to ease my mind. I came here and now I'm calmed and worried at the same time. The thing is no one actually knows what's going to happen. Although, I must say I believe perhaps if not on tomorrow's date, then some time in June, there will be natural disasters. Although, natural disasters are normal, especially in this time of year, therefore there shouldn't be much worry about that for the people living in those areas. Why I am worried about natural disasters now is because I hear weather is getting bad. I don't know what to expect from storms now and such.
Although, not to worry! One should not worry so about such things. If one is a believer in God then I am certain he will protect you. The Mayans had predicted many things I believe that have actually occurred some time ago, therefore I would research what they predict for the future and create my own opinion. Yeah some people says that there was a 6 6 6 before like for example June 6 1906 but look at the difference there is a one and a nine between but now is 06/06/2006 and actually i saw in the news that a virgen had this thing as a secret but now they knew that this virgen reveled the secret to a person and that person left the message in the bible. and those who don't believe this are stupid just wait until you see your self under the ground crying and for sure praying.

Im with you on this one.. although, when i was younger I always did fear the apocalypse.. its not going to happen on 6/6/06 , that would be way too obvious.. infact biblical scripture claims that it is not for us as humans to know when the world will end, it is for him to know only. so the vast majority of the evangelical christians feared by the "rapture of 6-6-06" need to realize that fear over this date is only a contridiction of your beliefs.

I feel that the Anti-Christ will be born tomorrow, but nothing will happen; it will be until 2012 when he does something. REmember, in the movie The Omen, Damien is 6 years old... so I don't think a baby will bring about the end of the world.

in general i think nothing unsusal will happen today 6/6/6.. its just the same as what people think when the year 2000 came.. almost all people believe that the world will end on 2000 but were still here.. calamities happen but occur as naturally as before.. probably we might be experiencing some unluckiness today.. like what happened to me today,, its a bit weird how most people forgot abt my number when i try to contact them.. my number is not showing up on their caller id and when i tell my name they'll ask me where do i get their number where in fact were contacting each other everyday.. i was so surprised why i was asked those questions.. im really feeling so weird right now.. that's why i was able to get to this site to check out information..

I don't think there is really anything else left to say here... the next person to make a comment is either going to say that they believe something will or won't happen. Then they'll either say we're all nuts or "praise God/Satan". MY comment is to anyone who talks about internet research. as far as this topic goes there is very little to zero FACT on the internet. The people who create websites devoted to this kind of stuff take it from other people who create websites devoted to this kind of stuff none of whom can prove ANYTHING with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY as far as future events. The long and short... be prepared but no one KNOWS for sure. and to the wiccans... not that I dabble but I am aware of a few things, how does one perpetrate anything negative with screwing themselves over?
